Lot Number Information Modification Rules
The change of Lot No. Information data can be managed via the Lot No. Information Modification Rules. These rules can be used to limit the permitted changes.
Lot No. Information Modification Rules can include the following field changes:
- Base ID
- Base Lot Number
- Container Type
- Date of Entry
- Expiration Date
- External Lot Number
- First Release Date
- Last Release Date
- Inspection Lot
- Max. Expiration Date
- Max. No. of Expiration Date Extensions
- No. of Expiration Date Extensions
- Production Date
- Status
- Type
You setup these rules with following steps:
- Select one of these fields to open the rules for editing. If the field in question does not appear in the list, you can add it by choosing Action New. Then select the field on the card.
- Enter a Description.
- Enter a Priority.
- If the defined rule prevents the lot data from being changed for the relevant condition, select Block Action.
- Enter the conditions in the lines of the rule. Enter a condition, a field and a condition filter, if necessary.
- Set the rule to Active so that it applies.
The following conditions can be selected:
- Item
- Variant Code
- Posted by user ID
- Posted by User Group
Important
Avoid using Business Central filter operator characters such as <, >, &, |, *, ?, .., or @ in codes used as condition filters (for example item numbers, variant codes, or user group codes). Business Central interprets these characters as filter operators, which can cause the rule to not be applied unnoticed.
Note
From version BC22 upwards, user groups are replaced by Yaveon User Groups.
Additional conditions can be defined for a rule for changing field Status:
- Old Status
- New Status
- Status of the component (e.g. a manufactured product can only be released if all components are released)
Note
Via the conditions Posted by user ID and Posted by User Group, these rules define who is allowed to change a lot to a particular status — for status changes to a status marked as QP-relevant, this effectively defines who counts as a Qualified Person (QP). The QP Release Register does not check this authorization itself, it only documents the posting user.
