    Calculation formulas

    Use of formulas

If a feature is marked as Calculated Feature, you can enter a formula in the Calculation Formula field that is used for the calculation. The value of a feature is determined / calculated by other feature values, using the usual arithmetic operations or complex formulas.

    Usable formulas / operators

In the ProBatch 365 Base app, the following basic calculations are available (the formulas to be entered in the Calculation Formula field are formatted in bold):

    Operator Description Examples
    + Addition F001 = F002+F003
    - Subtraction F001 = F002-F003
    * Multiplication F001 = F002*F003
    / Division F001 = F002/F003
    SQRT Square Root M001 = SQRT(M002)
OR logical operator OR, can be used in IF formulas OR(F001>1,F002>2)
AND logical operator AND, can be used in IF formulas AND(F001>1,F002 > 2)
NOT logical operator NOT, can be used in IF formulas NOT(OR(F001>1,F002>2))
    IF IF(test value,Then,Otherwise)

If the test value is true, this formula returns the Then value. In all other cases, the Otherwise value is returned. The formula can be compared with the Excel formula "IF".

A comma must be used as separator for the "Then" and "Else" value.
This formula can be combined with the logical operators AND, OR, NOT.
The expressions "true" and "false" can be used to evaluate a value for a feature of data type "boolean".
IF(F001>0,true,false) returns YES or NO to the feature.

    IF(F001=3,2,1): If F001 = 3, then enter value 2, otherwise value 1.

IF((AND(F001>1,F002>2)),10,5): If F001 is greater than 1 AND F002 is greater than 2, then insert value "10", otherwise value "5".

    IF(F001="YES",2,1)
    ERROR ERROR(error message)
This command can be used to output an error message for calculated features. In contrast to normal "IF conditions", the Error command can also be used to return a text even if it is not a text feature.
    IF(F001<0,0,IF(F001<5,F001,ERROR("Out of Spec.")))
If F001 is less than 0 -> then show 0, if F001 5 -> Then insert value from F001 -> Otherwise Show error message "Out of Spec."
    Caution

If the feature code contains a space, you must insert the feature in square brackets [ ]: (F001+[F 002]).
A dot must always be used as decimal separator in numbers, regardless of the client language or country-specific Windows installations.

    Note

Only the formulas SELECT and IF can be used in connection with quality control.
