    Add Document Field

The CD Field Configuration allows you to extend Corporate Design documents with additional fields from the underlying document tables — without any custom development. Fields can be added to any of the configurable sections of a document:

    • The Header section prints document-level information, such as reference numbers or contact data.
    • The Footer section prints document-level information in the footer area at the bottom of the document.
    • The Line section prints line-level columns, such as dates, quantities, or item attributes.
    • The Line Extension section prints additional information below each individual line, such as reference numbers or supplementary attributes that are too narrow to justify a full column.
    • The Tracking section prints item tracking information, such as lot or serial numbers, linked to each document line.
    • The Row Totals section prints totaling rows in the line area, typically used to display subtotals per line.
    • The Specification section prints item or document specifications, typically at the end of the document.
    • The Return Address section controls what is printed in the return address area visible through an envelope window.

The following examples show how to add a field from a document table to a header, a line, and a line extension section.

Example 1: External Document No. in Order Confirmation Header

This example shows how to add the External Document No. to the header of the order confirmation.

Open the CD Field Configuration and filter on CD Report ID 5517504 (order confirmation) and on Section Header. Then add a new line.

    Add CD document field

Fill in the fields of the new line as follows:

    • CD Report ID 5517504 — limits this setup line to the order confirmation report. Leave empty to apply to all reports.
    • Source Type Table — the data is read directly from a database table.
    • Source No. 36 — table 36 is the Sales Header table, which contains the document-level fields of a sales order.
    • Type Field — a standard table field is printed.
    • Field No. 100 — field 100 in the Sales Header table is the External Document No. field.
    • Section Header — the field is placed in the document header section.
    • Position 12 — defines the vertical order within the header; lower numbers appear higher up on the document.
    • Label External Document No. — the description printed next to the field value on the document.
    • Label Font Style Bold — the label is printed in bold.

The added field will now be printed in the order confirmation.

Example 2: Planned Delivery Date in Sales Shipment Line

This example shows how to add the Planned Delivery Date as a new column to the line section of the sales shipment. The field is printed at Position 7 in the line section.

Open the CD Field Configuration and filter on CD Report ID 5517508 (sales shipment) and on Section Line. Then add a new line.

Fill in the fields of the new line as follows:

    • CD Report ID 5517508 — limits this setup line to the sales shipment report.
    • Source Type Table — the data is read directly from a database table.
    • Source No. 111 — table 111 is the Sales Shipment Line table, which contains the line-level data of a posted sales shipment.
    • Source Sub Type -1 — the value -1 causes the field to be printed for all line types (items, G/L accounts, resources, and so on). To restrict output to a specific line type, enter the corresponding type number instead — for example, 2 for item lines only. The available type numbers are listed in the CD Field Configuration help page under the Source Sub Type description.
    • Type Field — a standard table field is printed.
    • Field No. 5794 — field 5794 in the Sales Shipment Line table is the Planned Delivery Date field.
    • Section Line — the field is placed in the line section and appears as a separate column.
    • Position 7 — the column is printed at the 7th position from the left in the line section. The value must be within the total column count defined by Output Type.
    • Output Type 9 — defines the total number of columns in the line section. This value must match the Output Type used on all other setup lines for the same section and report. The supported values are 1, 7, 9, and 15. Entering any other value results in an empty line section on the document. For more details, see the CD Field Configuration help page.
    • Use as Caption Yes — the label of this setup line is used as the column header in the printed line section.
    • Label Planned Delivery Date — the column header text printed above the date values.
    • Label Font Style Bold — the column header is printed in bold.

After saving the setup, the Planned Delivery Date appears as an additional column in the line section of the sales shipment.

Example 3: Blanket Order No. and Blanket Order Line No. in Purchase Order Line Extension

This example shows how to print the Blanket Order No. and Blanket Order Line No. from the purchase order line as line extensions in the purchase order. Purchase order lines that reference a blanket order will display the blanket order reference as a sub-line beneath the item line.

Two separate setup lines are required — one for each field. Open the CD Field Configuration, filter on CD Report ID 5517494 (purchase order) and on Section Line Extension, then add the two lines described below.

Setup line 1: Blanket Order No.

    • CD Report ID 5517494 — limits this setup line to the purchase order report.
    • Source Type Table — the data is read directly from a database table.
    • Source No. 39 — table 39 is the Purchase Line table, which contains the line-level data of a purchase order.
    • Source Sub Type -1 — the value -1 causes the field to be printed for all line types. To restrict output to item lines only, enter 2.
    • Type Field — a standard table field is printed.
    • Field No. 97 — field 97 in the Purchase Line table is the Blanket Order No. field.
    • Section Line Extension — the field is printed below the corresponding purchase order line, not as a column.
    • Position 2 — anchors the extension below the column at position 2, which is typically the description column.
    • Sorting 10 — controls the vertical order when multiple line extensions are printed at the same position; lower values appear first.
    • Label Blanket Order No. — the prefix text printed in front of the value.
    • Label Font Style Bold — the label is printed in bold.

Setup line 2: Blanket Order Line No.

    • CD Report ID 5517494
    • Source Type Table
    • Source No. 39 — Purchase Line table.
    • Source Sub Type -1
    • Type Field
    • Field No. 98 — field 98 in the Purchase Line table is the Blanket Order Line No. field.
    • Section Line Extension
    • Position 2 — same position as setup line 1 so both extensions appear anchored to the same column.
    • Sorting 20 — printed below setup line 1 due to the higher sorting value.
    • Label Blanket Order Line No.
    • Label Font Style Bold

After saving both setup lines, purchase order lines that reference a blanket order display the blanket order number and the corresponding line number as sub-lines beneath the item line.

    Note

If a purchase order line is not linked to a blanket order, the Blanket Order No. and Blanket Order Line No. fields are empty. To suppress the extension for lines without a blanket order reference, a condition using the Not Empty operator on the Blanket Order No. field can be added to both setup lines.
