Production Register Time
The Register Time function in Yaveon 365 Manufacturing Scanning allows the operator to post Setup Time and Run Time for a Production Order Routing Line directly from a mobile scanning device. It is intended for quick time corrections and ad-hoc time entries on the shop floor and is available as an action from within the Production Consumption and Production Output dialogs at several entry points along the registration flow.
The registration follows four steps:
- Open time registration
- Select Production Order Routing Line
- Enter Setup Time and Run Time
- Post time registration
Note
The Time Registration dialog in Yaveon 365 Manufacturing Scanning is a simplified function for posting Setup Time and Run Time against a Production Order Routing Line directly from a mobile scanning device. A scan-enabled extension of the more comprehensive Yaveon 365 Plant Data Acquisition (PDA) app — adding scanning support to the existing PDA app, which supports start/end messages, calendar-based break deduction, and additional time registration scenarios — is planned for a future release. For details on what the PDA app provides today, see Yaveon 365 Plant Data Acquisition.
1. Open time registration
The Time Registration is not opened from the main menu. It is available as a Register Time action (stopwatch icon) from within the Production Consumption and Production Output dialogs at the following entry points:
- In the Production Consumption dialog, on the Production Order Lines list
- In the Production Consumption dialog, on the Consumption Lines list (after a Production Order Line has been selected)
- In the Production Consumption dialog, on an operation line of the Consumption Lines list
- In the Production Output dialog, on the Production Order Lines list
The entry points on Production Order Line level share the same flow and behave identically. The action can be reached via the menu or the context menu of the selected Production Order Line. Opening the action transfers the selected Production Order Line to the Time Registration dialog and lists the available routing operations of that line.
When entering via an operation line (see Grouping by Operations in Production Consumption Registration), the operation selection is skipped: entering Setup Time and Run Time opens directly for the selected operation (continue with step 3).
Tip
The additional entry point on the Consumption Lines list allows the operator to register times for the current Production Order Line without first returning to the Production Order Lines list.
2. Select Production Order Routing Line
Note
When entering via an operation line of the Consumption Lines list, this step is skipped — the entry opens directly for the selected operation.
After opening Register Time for a Production Order Line, the routing operations of the corresponding Production Order are shown.
Each entry includes:
- (1) Operation No. and Operation Description
- (2) Item No. and Item Description
- (3) Actual Setup Time (with the Work Center's Unit of Measure)
- (4) Actual Run Time (with the Work Center's Unit of Measure)
The Actual Setup Time and Actual Run Time reflect the totals already posted for the routing operation, so the operator immediately sees the current state before entering additional times.
Selection of a Routing Line
The routing operation can be selected in the following ways:
- Manual selection through the display
- Scanning a Production Order barcode that includes the Operation No. (Prod. Order No. + Line No. + Operation No.). In this case, the list is filtered to the scanned Operation No.
Note
The list of routing operations is restricted to the Routing of the selected Production Order Line. Only operations that belong to this Routing Reference are shown.
3. Enter Setup Time and Run Time
After selecting a routing operation, two queries are shown:
- Setup Time
- Run Time
- Post (Green Checkmark)
The label of each query indicates the Unit of Measure expected for the value. The Unit of Measure is taken from the Setup Time Unit of Meas. Code and Run Time Unit of Meas. Code of the selected Production Order Routing Line.
Note
Both queries are optional and can be skipped. Only the value entered is posted. Negative values are allowed and can be used to correct previously posted times.
4. Post time registration
Confirming the last step posts the time registration immediately. The values are written to the Production Journal and posted from there to the Capacity Ledger Entries of the corresponding Production Order Routing Line.
Each Time Registration is posted as an independent entry. There is no buffer or list of pending registrations as is the case for the Production Consumption Registration. After posting, the routing operations list is refreshed and the updated Actual Setup Time and Actual Run Time are shown.
Note
The output quantity of the underlying production journal line is set to 0 when posting from the Time Registration dialog. Output quantities are not posted via this function — they are recorded through the Production Output Registration.
