Zone
The ProBatch 365 Warehouse extends the Zone with further data. Using the fields Inventory Rounding Production Provision, Inventory Rounding Whse. Movement and Inventory Rounding Pick, you can define how the system is to increase the required quantity when calculating the quantity to be withdrawn from the warehouse so that, for example, no containers or load carriers have to be opened. The following basic options are available:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Required Quantity | Exactly the required quantity is proposed (standard functionality). Therefore, no inventory deferral takes place. |
| Container / Required Qty. | It is rounded up to the storage unit. If you are not working with storage units, the system does not round up and the required quantity is used. |
| Container / Load Carrier | The system rounds up to the storage unit. If no storage unit is specified, the complete load carrier or the total inventory of the inventory data record is taken. |
| Load Carrier | The entire load carrier is removed, independent of storage units. For inventory without load carrier, the complete inventory data record (article tracking per bin) is withdrawn. |
Note
Generally, this functionality is only available for storage locations with directed put-away and pick.
Note
The fields for the inventory rounding can also be found on the item zone data. The facilities at the Item Zone Data override the setting at the Zone.
Inventory rounding production provision
Using the field Inventory Rounding Production Provision, you can define how the system is to round off the inventory when calculating the quantity to be withdrawn in the process production provision.
The quantity available shall be the decisive factor in determining the quantity. If the storage unit equals the base unit of the article, the storage unit is not used for inventory rounding.
Example: requirement quantity 33KG.
Inventory 40 bags / 1000KG on one load carrier. Depending on the setting for inventory rounding, the following withdrawal quantities result:
- Required Quantity: 33KG
- Container / Required Qty.: 2 bags (50KG)
- Container / Load Carrier: 2 bags (50KG)
- Load Carrier: 40 bags (1000KG)
Inventory rounding whse. movement
The field Inventory Rounding Whse. Movement can be used to calculate the quantity to be withdrawn from the warehouse for movements. This option is taken into account in the following processes:
- Creation of movements from movement worksheet (used for example in the function calculate production order demand
- Creation of movements from replenishment for production
- Creation of movements from replenishment for warehouse shipment
- Creation of movements from replenishment worksheet
Inventory rounding pick
You can use the field Inventory Rounding Pick to calculate the quantity to be withdrawn from the warehouse for pick. This option is taken into account in the following processes:
- Creation of pick for warehouse shipment taking into account tolerance
- Creation of pick for production
- Preparation of pick for internal pick requirements
More fields on the zone
Enclosed you will find a list of further fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Zone Code Pick | In the field Zone Code Pick you can define the zone code to which a possible Replenishment is to be transferred. If a maximum quantity is defined for the target zone, this is taken into account. If a "target zone" is defined for replenishment, the Put-away Zone order is taken into account for the bin search within the zone. The zone order is no longer used. The bins must have a bin type code with pick. |
| Manual Put-away | If the field Manual Put-away is activated for a zone, no bin specification is made for this zone during the directed put-away bin search. If the system proposes this zone as the target for a put-away, taking other criteria into account, the user must manually complete the bin before registering the document. In this way, the employee receives a put-away proposal with a default zone, then puts away the goods "on sight" in a desired free bin and registers the bin used in the system. |
| Consider Picking Method | If this field is set, then a put-away into the zone may only take place if the receipt date or expiration date of the inventory to be put-away is less than or equal to the receipt date or expiration date of the oldest existing inventory. |
